The Kibo Robot Programming Challenge is one of the most competitive events related to space. Participants must send commands and codes to the NASA-built Astrobee, an autonomous robot, from NASA's ground station. This robot assists astronauts with their daily activities on the ISS. Experts in the field have noted the pride in Nepali youth reaching the finals.
The competition, involving youth from 11 countries, including representatives from the United Nations, aims for first place. Shakya, a participating youth, mentioned that NASA has selected a team for the USA, while Japan's space agency, JAXA, has selected a team for Japan.
Teams from Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and five other Asia-Pacific countries' government space agencies will compete in the finals.
